Dear Classmates,

40 years ago this summer we graduated together from Deep Creek High School. Wow! Time moves so fast! Now we’re just about three short months away from our 40th anniversary reunion. The reunion will be held Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1.

A registration form is available here. Please return it before time slips away. As a small incentive, the registration fee is reduced if you register by August 1.

We’re planning three events for the weekend. We hope you can and we hope you will attend them all.

Friday Night we will get together for a meet and greet at Roger Brown's in downtown Portsmouth. On the menu – plenty of hors d'oeuvres.

The Hornets are playing their Homecoming Game vs. Nansemond River on Friday Night at 7:00. We’ll get started at Roger Brown’s around 5:00 for those who want to attend the game.

Saturday afternoon and evening we will gather for our main event at the Ruritan Log Cabin in Deep Creek. On the menu - quite a feast with pork tenderloin, shrimp, pastas, fruits and cheeses, fresh baked breads and plenty of desserts.

The Log Cabin kicks us out far too soon, so we've planned a "party after the party" down the canal bank at a classmate’s home. We plan a bonfire. And, we'll have a band to entertain us - the Jim Newsom Quartet. If the music is too loud, we'll have four acres to spread out and talk. Let's hope for some dry, crisp fall weather.

If you have access to a computer, please visit our website at DCHS71.com for more details, maps & updates.

We all look forward to seeing you there,

The DCHS 71 Reunion Committee
